Little Rock Police Department Culture Training – 2018

The City of Little Rock renewed the GPC contract for Year Two. The Cultural Diversity and Cultural Competency training offers a fresh approach to the traditional topics of diversity, mutuality, equity, and bias. It looks through the lens of culture when observing human exchange and differences in behavior. In 2018, GPC trained almost 500 officers and supervisors, 45 police recruits, 145 civilians who work for the department, and 12 members of the Command Staff. A journal article describing the effectiveness of the training has been submitted to the Police Chief magazine. In early November, GPC shared a one-hour presentation in Round Rock, Texas to CALEA Accreditation Managers representing police departments from five states.
